I have loved listening to and playing music since an early age. I have learnt to play instruments including; guitar, piano and drums and continue to develop my musical abilities currently. Above all I love playing guitar. Whether it is acoustic or electric I really like losing myself for a few a hours exploring notes, ideas and movements on the guitar. Below I have uploaded a few instrumental tracks I have developed and refined during the past few years. The songs are composed, performed and belong to Taj Kemp 2015.
Afternoon Storm
This song reminds me of an afternoon storm, and the 'story' if you like, of a storm from its' creation through to its demise. The song is put to flood pictures from the Kemp family archive.
Porch Blues
This is a blues progression inspired by riffs and notes my dad used to play to me as a child. He taught me so much about playing guitar and yet we still yearned to play to our differing tastes and styles. It is only these many years later that i realise how much I have in common with my dad (well...musically at very least). The music is set to images of dad playing music through-out his life.
Growing Up Song
This song is about growing up a member of the Kemp family. There were many ups and downs through-out our childhood and this song represents that journey. The sudden twists and melodic turns reflect the challenges that the Kemp Family has faced and overcome. The music is set to various images of our childhood.
